DERC RECRUITMENT 2022
The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission was constituted by Govt. of NCT of Delhi vide Notification No.F.11(28)/98-EB/341 dt. 3-3-99 for discharge of the following functions :
- To determine the tariff for electricity, wholesale bulk, grid or retail, as the case maybe, in the manner provided in section 29 of the Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 1998;
- To determine the tariff payable for the use of the transmission facilities in the manner provided in section 29 of the Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 1998;
- To regulate power purchase and procurement process of the transmission utilities and distribution utilities including the price at which the power shall be procured from the generating companies, generating stations or from other sources for transmission, sale, distribution and supply in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
- To promote competition, efficiency and economy in the activities of the electricity industry to achieve the objects and purposes of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 1998.
Subsequently the Govt. of NCT of Delhi notified the Delhi Electricity Reform Act 2000 deemed to be inforce from 3rd day of November 2000. The Delhi Electricity Reform Act provides that the Commission established and constituted under section 17 of the Electricity Regulatory Commissions Act 1998 shall be the first Commission for the purposes of this Act
The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission invites application from suitable candidates for filling up the vacancies in the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forums established under Section 42(5) and Section 42(6) of Electricity Act 2003 respectively and as per the terms of appointment of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (Forum for Redressal of the Grievances of the Consumers and Ombudsman) Regulations, 2018 read in conjunction with the provisions of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (Forum for Redressal of the Grievances of the Consumers and Ombudsman) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2022;

✔️ Chairperson shall be persons of ability, integrity and standing who have adequate knowledge of, and have experience of at least 20 years in dealing with problems relating to engineering, finance, commerce, economics, law, management, administration or consumer affairs with minimum qualification of a graduate degree from a recognized university.
