Came to be established on 1st May, 1960 as a result of bifurcation of the former State of Bombay into two States of Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sunderlal Trikamlal Desai, as the first Chief Justice; and Hon’ble Mr. Justice K. T. Desai, Hon’ble Mr. Justice J. M. Shelat, Hon’ble Mr. Justice N. M. Miabhoy and Hon’ble Mr. Justice V. B. Raju as puisne judges adorned the bench.

The High Court started functioning near Akashwani, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad. Old Building High Court of Gujarat Near Akashwani, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad. Gujarat, India.

The High Court has later shifted to the new building at Sola, Ahmedabad, from 16th January, 1999. New Building High Court of Gujarat Sola, Ahmedabad – 380 060. Gujarat, India.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for appointment to the post of DISTRICT JUDGE 10% by promotion through limited competitive examination of eligible Senior Civil Judges

1) DISTRICT JUDGE

✅ Age Limit:

✔️ Maximum 56 years.

✅ Pay Scale:- Rs.51,650 -1240 – 59,090 -1390 – 63,260/- + allowances.

✅ Educational Qualification:

✔️ A Judicial Officer must have completed five years’ qualifying service, as Senior Civil Judge (including Ad-hoc Additional District Judges), in the Gujarat Judicial Service, as on the date of Notification of vacancy i.e. 07/04/2022.

✅ Selection Process:

✔️ Selection of Officer shall be made on the basis of Aggregate Marks obtained by the Officer in the Main Written Examination and Viva -voce Test (Interview).

✔️ Step-5: Result of all Tests/Examinations will be made available on the High Court Website as well as OJAS Portal and/or by any other mode that may be decided by the High Court.
