The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is the municipal body responsible for governing the central area of New Delhi. The capital city of India. It was established in 1927 under the Delhi. Municipal Act to replace the Delhi Municipal Committee. The NDMC is responsible for providing civic amenities. And services such as water supply, sanitation, roads, parks. And public health, among others, to the residents of New Delhi.

The NDMC covers an area of 43.7 square kilometers. And has a population of over 300,000 people. It is headed by a chairperson and comprises of 13 elected members and five nominated members. The chairperson and the members are elected every five years.

The NDMC has several departments, including the engineering department, the health department, the education department, and the enforcement department, among others, to ensure the smooth functioning of the municipality. It also works in collaboration with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to address the issues and challenges faced by the residents of New Delhi.
