The National Water Development Agency (NWDA) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, responsible for the planning and development of water resources in India. It was established in 1982 and is headquartered in New Delhi.
The primary mandate of NWDA is to carry out detailed studies and surveys of river basins and prepare feasibility reports for the development of water resources projects. It also coordinates and monitors the implementation of inter-state river water disputes and provides technical assistance to state governments in the development of water resources.
The National Water Development Agency (NWDA) is an agency of the Government of India, established in 1982 under the Ministry of Jal Shakti (previously known as the Ministry of Water Resources). The NWDA is also responsible for coordinating with various state governments, other central government agencies, and international organizations for the development of water resources in the country.
