The Ministry is also responsible for implementing the Digital India initiative, which aims to make India a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.

The  vacancy for the post of Director-General of the National Informatics Centre (NIC). The NIC is a premier information technology organization of the Indian government, providing e-governance support to government departments and agencies at the central, state, and district levels.

The ideal candidate for the position should have a strong background in information technology, with at least 25 years of experience in the field. They should have a proven track record of leading large-scale IT projects and managing complex IT systems. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be required to interact with government officials, stakeholders, and the public.
